Once built, you can set up a Make Component Bill, and a colonist with a crafting skill of eight will be able to transform 12 pieces of steel into one component. Additionally, a colonist will need a construction level of six to handle building it. The bench itself requires 200 Steel, 12 components, and two advanced components. This requires you to research Microelectronics, followed by the Multi-analyzer, and finally Fabrication.
